Stiftung Warentest takes a close look at 18 Christmas stollen.
Four of them are "very good" at the tasting.
The best holiday pastry also convinced the testers with its good price of 9.00 euros.
Dresden/Munich/Nuremberg - Christmas without Christstollen - definitely not.
Stiftung Warentest thought so too and examined 18 specimens with raisins in the laboratory.
Including five Dresden Stollen and four with marzipan filling.
The specimens are from the trade, were ordered online or bought directly from the factory.
The festive pastries cost between four and 30 euros per kilogram.

Christmas stollen in the test: stimulants, dried fruit, seasoning and harmful substances under the magnifying glass of the testers
Four of the seven specimens even convinced the testers at the tasting with the grade "very good".
In the test, this falls under the “sensory judgement” category and is included in the overall assessment of each individual stud.
Because when it comes to Christmas biscuits, the focus is of course on the stimulants when the testers evaluate them.
In the best case, the Christmas stollen smells and tastes aromatic, with a balanced proportion of dried fruit and typical stollen seasoning.
The consistency should be strong, loose and stable when cut.
The Dresdner Christstollen by Dr.
Quendts is the most convincing in terms of taste and, at nine euros per kilogram, is also the holiday price tip.
Stiftung Warentest about the stollen test winner
A total of five testers tried the products and rated their taste.
The tunnels were checked for harmful substances in the laboratory.
According to Stiftung Warentest, the pollutant levels were all very low to inconspicuous.
Whether with or without marzipan, the Christmas stollen is part of the Christmas season.

If you value organic ingredients, you have to reach for the Dresden vintage stollen from the Spiegelhauer organic bakery.
It is good, but at 30 euros it is also one of the most expensive cakes of the 18 tested stollen.
If you prefer to bake your own Christmas stollen before Christmas and don't like raisins, we recommend this fruity alternative with cranberries.
