Emergency services are looking for at least 30 people buried in the mud after a landslide on a highway in southern Brazil.
The government of the state of Paraná announced that six people had already been rescued alive.
However, firefighters also found two bodies.
On Monday, the slope above the road near the village of Guaratuba collapsed after heavy rain, taking 16 vehicles with it.
"We have no way of determining the exact number of victims, since there could have been between one and five people in the vehicles," said fire chief Manoel Vasco.
"That's why we assume 30 to 50 missing."
A video from the radio station Pop FM Curitiba showed the scene of the accident.
It showed several trucks that had apparently been swept away by the mudslide.
Teams from the fire brigade, civil defense and the highway operator took part in the search.
They also used thermal imaging cameras to find the victims.
The persistent rain could lead to further landslides and make the search more difficult.
