My brand new workshop is in Verneuil-sur-Avre in Normandy, where I have been living for three years.
From my window, we only see the stone wall of the house, a mineral and inert view.
I wanted a very quiet workshop.
The light comes from above, from the east.
It is a kind of box with a loophole bordered in black, like a painting, a trompe-l'oeil, a monk's cell or a prison cell.
In painting, what interests me more and more is the question of time.
Looking at these stones placed on top of each other, I see an accumulated time.
But very alive because there is nothing equal in the forms.

I am usually alone in this place.
And I like it.
I don't put on music.
It's very clean, very tidy, very white, I'm quite obsessive.
This is my painting studio.
Isolating the painting gives it a special status.
The drawing one is elsewhere in the house, I have another one in the Parisian suburbs.
They are not giant...
