Google dedicates a doodle to
Gerald "Jerry" Lawson
82 years after the birth of the American engineer considered one of the pioneers of the video game industry in the world.
After years of working in the video game business in Palo Alto, he became the head of the division that built the first home video game console featuring swappable game cartridges, an 8-way digital joystick, and a pause menu.
In 1980 Lawson decided to go it alone and founded VideoSoft which created software for the Atari 2600, popularizing the cartridge developed in previous years by Lawson and his team.
To celebrate this anniversary, Google has released an interactive doodle game.
The doodle features games designed by three American guest artists and game designers: Davionne Gooden, Lauren Brown, and Momo Pixel.
