(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 01 - An "unfortunate and inopportune expression" referring "not to a generalized judgment - which would be inadmissible as well as unfair - against State Servants, but to specific facts, which took place in Santa Maria Capua Vetere".
Agrigento magistrate Walter Chiarini, who ended up at the center of the controversy for having used the expression "partisan gang" against prison police officers during a speech at a conference, wrote this in a letter addressed to the Minister of Justice, expressing his "profound regret" if his words beyond intentions have "offended legitimate feelings".
Yesterday the unions of the prison police protested against that sentence and the head of the Dap Carlo Renoldi, expressing his amazement, had spoken of an "unacceptable judgement".
