On to the last round
The preliminary round of group E is almost done.
Today is the last game of the German national team in the preliminary round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Germany is the clear favorite on the field.
Costa Rica was the last team to qualify for the World Cup.
Despite Costa Rica's 7% chance of winning, coach Luis Fernando Suarez remains confident.
After all, Costa Rica reached the quarterfinals in Brazil in 2014.
At that time, the team failed on penalties against the Netherlands.
In any case, Costa Rica won't fail at the Public Viewing Buffet, because this recipe from Simply Tasty for empanadas is simply unbeatable.
That's how it's done:
You need these ingredients:
For the filling:
2 tbsp cooking oil
200 g minced beef
100 g onions, diced
100 g peppers, diced
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika powder
100 g tomatoes, diced
200 g rice, cooked
150 g kidney beans, drained
Besides that:
2 packs (260 g each) Tarte flambée dough on the refrigerated shelf
egg yolk
The preparation is so easy:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius top and bottom heat.
For the filling: Heat oil in a pan.
Fry the ground beef, onions, peppers and garlic in it and season with salt, cumin and paprika powder.
Stir occasionally until the ground beef is nicely browned all over.
Add the tomatoes, rice and kidney beans to the minced meat mixture and mix well.
Cut five circles from each flammkuchen.
Tip: a muesli bowl is particularly good here.
If you don't have any on hand, you can use small plates that are usually placed under cups.
Place a generous tablespoon of the minced meat filling in the middle of each piece of tarte flambee.
Then fold over from one side and gently press down the edge with your fingers or a fork.
Brush the top of the empanadas with the egg yolk.
Bake the empanadas for 20 minutes at 200°C until golden brown.
¡Que aproveche!
(Bon appetit, as they say in Costa Rica.)
The last game of the Germans in the preliminary round is coming up.
