The future is cashless, but also cashless?

A new system is currently revolutionizing shopping.

Now Aldi Nord is moving along.

Dortmund – Many are already familiar with self-checkouts from Holland or from markets like Rossmann.

The system works without cashiers.

The customer simply scans his goods himself, pays without cash and leaves.

But there is an even easier way.

Aldi Nord wants to work more on a cashless system in the future.

Aldi Nord introduces a checkout-free supermarket system – shopping without queues

To this end, Aldi Nord has entered into closer cooperation with the Israeli start-up "Trigo", as reported by

Lebensmittelzeitung

(LZ).

The discounter wants to take an active part in the company in the future.

The aim is to become even more digital.

In Utrecht there is already a first checkout-free supermarket with the Trigo system.

As reported by the Hello-Smart

portal

, customers have to scan a QR code when entering the supermarket.

After they have registered, video software automatically recognizes what ends up in the shopping cart.

After leaving the store, payment is made via the app.

Family father is annoyed by waiting in the supermarket - Aldi is going into the cashless system

Aldi Nord is not alone with the cashless concept.

As the

LZ

writes, Netto and Rewe are already using the cashless system in Germany – for example in Berlin.

In general, cashless payments in Germany are increasing.

As a current study shows, 90 percent of Germans have a positive attitude towards cashless payments.

Paying via Google Pay or Apple Pay is also becoming increasingly popular.

After all, 66 percent of those surveyed use the contactless service, which also includes the modern EC card.

It remains to be seen whether the cashless system will be just as successful in Germany.

It could be a win for customers and supermarket operators, reports RUHR24.

If no cash registers are necessary, there is also less waiting time.

That was also crucial for Trigo founder Michael Gabay.

As a family man, he didn't want to stand around at the checkout unnecessarily.

The former Israeli army technologist invented the cashless innovation without further ado, as the

Handelsblatt

writes.

Shopping without checkouts could become established in the future.

Aldi Nord is also getting involved in the concept.

Cashless system from Israel is coming to Germany – cashiers soon without a job?

The idea for cashless shopping was born.

Customers can shop with less stress, owners can make more profit in less time.

However, what would happen to the jobs of the cashiers if cash registers disappeared completely remains open (more supermarket news at RUHR24).

It is not yet possible to say how secure the cash register system is.

At first, one might assume that theft would be more difficult if you paid almost automatically.

But what happens if you don't "register" at the entrance?

It can be assumed that Aldi and Trigo will make a few more adjustments in the next few years.

Data protection is also a critical point.
