Covid, the transmissibility index rises again, from 1.04 to 1.14

The Rt transmissibility index of the covid rises again, going from 1.04 to 1.14 in the weekly monitoring of the ISS-ministry of health. The occupation of hospital posts is growing this week (ANSA)


The value of the Rt transmissibility index

calculated on the symptomatic cases of Covid-19 rises again this week.

In the period 9 November-22 November 2022, the average Rt was in fact equal to 1.14 (range 1.05-1.20), up compared to the previous week (when it was equal to 1.04) and higher than the epidemic threshold of the unit.

The incidence of Covid-19 cases is instead stable and equal to 386 per 100 thousand inhabitants (compared to the value of 388 last week).

This is highlighted by the weekly monitoring of the ISS-Ministry of Health.

The occupation of hospital posts by Covid patients is

growing this week , both in ordinary wards and in intensive care units which were stable last week.

In fact, the employment rate in intensive care rose to 3.2% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 1 December) against 2.5% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 24 November).

The employment rate in medical areas nationwide rises to 13.3% (survey at 1 December) against 12.0% (survey at 24 November).

This is highlighted by the weekly ISS-Ministry of Health monitoring.
