"Today I am the happiest man in the universe for having overcome this very bad thing that I had in my life that made me suffer so much. Today this trouble has been overcome in a big way".
Gabriele Marone, 31 years old, seriously disabled, suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and a slight mental impairment, speaks as he leaves the Ordinary Court of Rome which this morning said no to the appointment of a support administrator external to the family, effectively accepting the instances of Gabriele and his family.
"We are fairly satisfied - commented the lawyer Gian Piero Ravazzini - the judge recognized the positive role of Gabriele's family and the fact that he is helped by an absolute safety net, so there is no risk that he will be administered by third parties nor estranged from the family. The father will probably be appointed as support administrator, so we are optimistic for the future. And also in the relationship with the health company some misunderstandings that had occurred in the past have been clarified. We are confident
that he can, even in the relationship with the institutions, resume a dialogue and a positive development of the individualized life project that Gabriele deserves".
