Harrison Ford (in »Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate«): Mimics the doddering old man to get right back to it

When Harrison Ford took the stage at the Anaheim Convention Center in September, his voice faltered and he seemed moved to tears.

At the Disney D23 trade fair, he thanked the audience for making it possible for him to shoot new Indiana Jones adventures.

But the next will be his last: "That's it.

I won't fall down for you anymore."

Now the trailer for the new film has been released, which is due to be released in June under the title »Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate«.

Ford has been with the calls lately, two years ago he was seen in the Jack London adaptation »Call of the Wild«.

Destiny, wilderness, what the heck, the trailer for the new Indy film released on Thursday gets off to a flying start.

Chases, gunfights, underwater scenes, a voice from the off whispers how great a life full of adventure is.

In contrast, Ford is cut across the street with a briefcase under his arm.

Then you see him in a lecture hall with students.

Wherever you look, everyday life, mustiness, boredom.

And in the first sentence he utters, he claims that his exciting life is behind him: "Those days are a thing of the past."

What follows is a wild potpourri.

There are action standards like valiantly running over a moving train.

You can recognize Mads Mikkelsen, even though he wears glasses, and you can imagine that he could make life as difficult for Indiana Jones as he did with James Bond in "Casino Royale".

And one looks forward to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who apparently plays one of Indy's godchildren.

The film, whose production history was so complicated that one feared that the now 80-year-old Ford would really break down in between, seems to be a rather happy swan song.

That's the way it has to be.

After 007 became a really sad cup in the James Bond melodrama »No Time to Die«, we now expect a hero who will carry us along to the last crack of the whip.
