The 38th edition of the Youth Book Fair has been in full swing in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) since Wednesday.

An unmissable event for lovers of children's literature, a few weeks before the end of the year celebrations.

More than 400 exhibitors, including many small independent publishing houses, 280 children's authors, meet their public until Monday, December 5.

With its theme “Wishes of the world!”, the Show hopes to bring a smile back to the sector, by reaching its record of 180,000 visitors.

As with the rest of the edition, the youth sector came down to earth in 2022, after an exceptional year 2021.

Sales volumes from January to October fell 12% year on year, and even remain 3% lower than in 2019, according to the GfK institute.

Only the novel for teenagers maintains a good momentum.
