A world star as a guest in Munich: Bryan Adams is making a stop in Munich on his "So happy it hurts" tour.
Our criticism:
Suddenly he stands there and raises his fist in the air.
Just a moment ago, all eyes were on the inflatable white Chrysler convertible that floats and dances above the arena.
And out of nowhere Bryan Adams appears in the bright red light and calls: "Let there be guitars", we need guitars!
He came to Munich to rid the world of bad music, says the intro to the sold-out concert in the Olympiahalle.
And to make the fans happy, as the name of the tour and album suggests: "So happy it hurts".
The 63-year-old starts completely pain-free and rushes through the first songs of the evening.
"Kick Ass", "Can't stop this thing we started" and "Somebody" immediately pull the audience from their seats.
Adams is a very charming rocker: "Hello, my name is Bryan, I'm your singer tonight," he introduces himself with a wink.
And lets the audience sing "Heaven".
This is how this unmistakable raspy voice grinds and languishes through a decades-long career and numerous hits.
No frills, just pithy, well-made rock music.
He shares the minimalist stage with drums, bass and piano.
And his brilliant guitarist Keith Scott, who is able to demonstrate all his skills on an equal footing with Adams - and receives a lot of applause for it.
The audience can also applaud itself when it demonstrates its dancing skills to "You belong to me" as requested.
The Munich fans are in the mood for a rock party.
And that's what they get: With "The only thing that looks good on me is you", "When you're gone" and "(Everything I do) I do it for you", the Canadian conjures up one banger after the other at the time of going to press the stage.
Bryan Adams' mission of happiness has succeeded.
Didn't hurt at all - on the contrary!
