The broadcaster "SWR" has started a large back test.
Three recipes were tested on the different baking surfaces: oatmeal cookies, nut and date macaroons and baked potatoes.
And other options have also been found on the health online portal for journalists and medical specialists “Praxis Vita”.
Who can best replace the parchment paper?
Alternatives to baking paper: greasing as an easy option
The simplest alternative to baking paper is not to put anything under the cookies.
"Praxis Vita" is the name of the simple greasing of trays or baking tins.
Then sprinkle with a little flour and nothing sticks.
If you then want to invest some money, you can buy a non-stick baking tray.
According to the report, the purchase is worthwhile.
Pizza, cookies and the like can therefore be put in the oven without any baking paper.
This saves waste and is less dangerous to health.
The "SWR" uses a permanent baking film made of Teflon with a non-stick coating.
The problem for the testers was
“that one sheet is smaller than with conventional baking paper.

Permanent baking mats as a replacement for normal baking paper
A permanent silicone baking mat was also included in the test.

The test winner was the product for the "SWR" testers when detaching the cookies and baked potatoes.

"As with the coated baking paper, there is still a residual risk of the toxins escaping if the heat is too high."

The permanent baking foil made of Teflon is also examined closely by the “Praxis” experts.
