Average
thirteenth
month consumption for households will decrease in real terms in
2022
, reaching a 15-year low.
It emerges from the analysis of
Christmas
consumption and the use of thirteenth month salary by Confcommercio, which estimates an average of 1,532 euros per family in terms of potential consumption deriving from thirteenth month salary alone.
The impact of bills weighs in, as well as in 2021, despite the fact that the volume of the thirteenth net is growing in step with the growth of employee employment.
In 2022, Italians will spend 6.7 billion euros on Christmas gifts.
An average of 157 euros per capita, 540 per family.
It emerges from the analysis of Christmas consumption and the use of thirteenths by Confcommercio.
An expense that is slightly reduced compared to the previous year, but which "does not give rise to signs of particular stress or concern", explains the director of the Confcommercio Research Office, Mariano Bella.
As for the propensity to give Christmas gifts, the value has been decreasing since 2015. This year it goes from 41.1% in 2021 to 41.7%.
A growth that "is not significant. But the decline has stopped. This is positive".
Confcommercio expects "positive surprises in a difficult context" for Christmas.
