There has been a fatal accident at the Lufthansa shipyard at Hamburg Airport.
An employee was trapped by a hangar door, police said.
The 53-year-old man wanted to open a gate on Friday evening to bring a plane out of Hall 6 and then got his head in between.
The 53-year-old was reportedly stuck between the goal and a fixed element in the hall and was unable to free himself.
According to the police, the man was injured so badly that the emergency doctor could only determine death on the spot.
Third-party negligence can initially be ruled out, the police said.
Further investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on the man's death.
