NAPLES - 'The Toy Fair - Exhibition of antique toys': over a thousand antique toys in six thematic areas, with scenography by Donatella Dentice d'Accadia, in the State Archives of Naples (piazzetta del Grande Archivio, 5), directed by Candida Carrino.

    In the setting of the Monastery of Saints Severino and Sossio with its frescoes between the 1400s and 1600s, the vestiges starting from the 8th century, the Cloisters, an oasis of peace, the exhibition draws on the toy collection of Vincenzo Capuano (over 8 thousand).

    Its exhibition itinerary confirms the assumption: there is nothing more serious than play, the focal point of the imagination and creativity of children and adults.

The specimens on display refer to the years between 1860 and 1940, a golden age for toys;

there is no shortage of the oldest, starting from the first half of the eighteenth century.

These are very rare, sometimes unique pieces that highlight the ingenuity and astounding creative skills of the craftsmen.

    An ideal destination for the tourist flow expected in Naples in the days between December and January, also to discover the charm of the State Archives and its treasures and rarities, near San Gregorio Armeno.

    The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday 7 December, at 11.
