To their extraordinary families, to the volunteers and associations that fight for the the affirmation of their rights goes today the appreciation of the Republic

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was established by the UN with the aim of promoting the rights and well-being of all those who live with a form of disability

: it is of a significant number of people, at risk of increasing as the population ages.


    Health, education, mobility, work, are rights that for people with disabilities represent the fruit of long battles paved with pain, mortification, sense of injustice and impotence, episodes of discrimination.

The inclusion of people with disabilities is proof of the full affirmation of human rights.

Important advances in technology are helping to overcome the limitations that hinder the lives of people with disabilities, promoting their full participation.

Any progress in this direction to go beyond all barriers should be encouraged.


    People with disabilities are a resource for the community and their participation in the life of society is precious". This was underlined by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
