Kaufland has responded to the warnings of the federal association Ei and commented on the current situation.

And again the supermarket giant reacts.
According to the Federal Egg Association (BVEi), there is a risk of an egg bottleneck.
Even before Easter, the BVEi warned of an egg shortage.
According to the association, the emergency situation is now approaching for Christmas.
When asked by the editors, those responsible explained: "The supply of eggs of German origin is no longer guaranteed." Kaufland has now reacted to the situation and explained what this means for the grocer's customers.
Whole industry with problems: Bundesverband Ei warns Kaufland and Co.
The reason given for the impending supply shortage is the drastically increased procurement costs, which are bringing the industry to its knees.
As a result, there is massive short-time work in the egg product industry and supply bottlenecks in the food retail sector.

In a recently published market report, Eiervertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co.KG of the German Egg Union (DEU) confirms the current situation:
"The situation on the egg market is getting worse!
A secure supply of fresh eggs is no longer a matter of course.
One or the other market participant will probably have to do even more to get fresh chicken eggs in the coming weeks.”
But what about Kaufland?

Federal Egg Association (BVEi)
Under the umbrella of the ZDG, the Federal Egg Association covers the entire egg production chain.
Members are pullet rearing companies, laying hen farmers, packing stations and the egg trade as well as the cooking, peeling and dyeing companies as a further group.
The aim is to bundle all professional interests of those involved in egg production and marketing in Germany vis-à-vis politicians, authorities and the public.
However, Kaufland makes a small restriction: “Delivery delays can only occur for individual items at the moment.
Our branches are supplied daily, and there are also sufficient stocks in our logistics centers.” We are also

Egg bottleneck for Kaufland less dramatic: Egg Association reiterates a warning
From Kaufland's point of view, the impending egg bottleneck is much less dramatic than the Federal Egg Association explains.
But from exactly this side is refilled again, with warning words.
Henner Schönecke, Chairman of the BVEi, reiterates his appeal from March 2022 and his willingness to talk to trade and politics.
