In the Hanover region, a 13-month-old girl was so badly injured by a falling shopping cart that she died shortly afterwards.
The accident happened in a hardware store in Garbsen, the police said.
The shopping cart was therefore loaded with plasterboard and got into a crooked position.

It was initially unclear why the shopping cart was so crooked that it tipped over and why the girl was standing next to it at that moment.
