A group of people have tried to steal a mural by British artist Banksy from a building hit by Russian bombing in Gostomel, Kiev district.
The police reported that they had arrested those responsible, as reported by the BBC.
The mural, which depicts a woman in a gas mask, was not damaged, regional governor Oleksiy Kuleba said.
"These images are, after all, symbols of our fight against the enemy," he said, "they are stories of the entire civilized world's support and solidarity with Ukraine. We will do everything to preserve these street art works as a symbol of our victory".
Police have released images of the yellow wall in Gostomel, with a large patch cut right down to the brickwork.
Banksy released video of his Ukraine artwork last month, with the artwork showing people going about everyday activities on bomb-ravaged buildings in Ukraine.
