December 5, 2022 is the first anniversary of the passing of Toni Santagata.
To remember the singer-songwriter from Sant'Agata di Puglia his friends from the National Football Team Actors 1971, of which Toni was one of the founders and with whom he played for 40 years, with Ninetto Davoli in the front row and many others including Roberto Ciufoli , and Coach Giancarlo Oddi dedicated a match to their 'teacher' and 'bomber' at the Stadio Comunale in Ronciglione (VT).
Even the friends and comrades of LEX, a team of lawyers and magistrates with whom Toni often trained, have prepared a memory.
And even in Sant'Agata di Puglia, football is at the center of the Christmas Cup, a five-a-side football tournament in his honor with an award ceremony.
On this same day of the first anniversary of his death, there is also a mass dedicated to him in the village.
His wife Giovanna Isola is committed to honoring Toni's memory and keeping his memory alive.
"I promised myself that I would do everything possible to leave a concrete sign of all of Toni's artistic work and I hope that the institutions help me to honor his greatness. I would like Toni's memory to never die", says the widow .
There are many activities in the pipeline to remember the man and the artist.
After the evening concert in his honor last summer in Sant'Agata, the process to name the main square of the Apulian town after him was concluded in September, the inauguration of which will almost certainly be in the spring.
The municipality, with the constant work and collaboration of the mayor Pietro Bove, would like to establish an annual award named after Toni Santagata and create a museum that can collect and preserve the traces and materials that tell of his journey.
Another project in preparation is that of a documentary film on Toni Santagata's career and successes as a singer and symbol of redemption of Puglia, of talent and of the Apulian dialect, brought all over the world, proudly becoming its ambassador.
