It has been almost three years since Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan turned their backs on the British royal family and renounced royal duties in London.

However, the couple has not calmed down since then.

On the contrary: Interviews followed - including with talk legend Oprah Winfrey -, TV appearances, his own podcast and Harry's biography, which is due to be released in January 2023.

Currently, however, another project of the couple is in the foreground: a documentary about the life of the two, produced by the streaming giant Netflix.

It has long been known that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed a million dollar deal with Netflix.

The contract is said to have been concluded around six months after leaving London.

Since then, Harry and Meghan have always been accompanied by cameras – and interviewed by the producers.

The first two trailers for the show give an idea of the dimensions that the project ultimately assumed.

After the first clip, which was published in early December, Netflix followed up again on Monday.

Also seen in the second trailer: quick cuts, paparazzi, private shots and tears.

The material is accompanied by dramatic voice overs.

Harry says at the beginning of the trailer how hard it is to look back on the past.

He wondered "what on earth happened".

Archival footage is said to show the couple won thousands of fans weeks after their public engagement.

Meghan is described by one commenter as a budding "Royal Rockstar" with cheering crowds flashing.

"And then," says Meghan, snapping her fingers, "everything changed," adds Harry.

A kissing photo from their wedding in Windsor is shown.

Harry explains the change with the hierarchy in the royal family.

In addition, there are leaks that would give stories to the press.

It is "a dirty game".

The women who married into the institution didn't have it easy, Prince Harry said.

Appropriately, shots of Meghan and videos of Harry's mother, Princess Diana, alternate.

Both are followed in the compilations by photographers.

"I was very scared. I didn't want history to repeat itself," says Harry in the background.

In 1997 he lost his mother in a car accident triggered by paparazzi.

In other interviews, he drew parallels between Diana's fate and how the media treated his wife.

The Netflix production, which will have a total of six episodes, caused a stir even before the first glimpses of the content.

After director Garrett Bradley was replaced due to conflicting ideas, Academy Award and Emmy award winner Liz Garbus was hired on the project.

Duchess Meghan then weakened the documentation somewhat in an interview with the magazine "Variety".

She trusts Garbus with her story, "even if it is told differently than we would have."

The palace has not yet commented on the two trailers.
