Actress Kirsty Alley, remembered by many for her role in the "Look Who's Talking" movie series, passed away after a battle with cancer.
Her children, True and Lily Parker, announced her death on social media yesterday (Monday).
"We are sorry to inform you that our amazing, brave and loving mother passed away after a battle with cancer that was recently discovered," their statement read.
"She was surrounded by her closest family members and fighting fiercely," the message added, "and left us with the joy of life she had."
As iconic as she was on screen, she was even more amazing as a mother and grandmother.'
Eli became famous in the 80's in a number of films, but it was the role she played in the legendary sitcom "Free on the Bar" that led to her initial breakthrough as an actress.
She played the character of Rebecca in the show alongside Ted Danson, after the publicized departure of the original star of the show, Shelly Long.
She starred in the show from 1987 until the beloved sitcom's demise in 1993.
During her acting career she was nominated for five Grammy Awards.
In 1991 she even won the prestigious award.
After that she starred during the 90's and the beginning of the 2000s in series and movies like "Runaway" and others.
She was 71 years old when she died.
