With the death of Elizabeth II in September, one would have thought the hatchet was buried.
Nay.
Looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no intention of letting go.
On the contrary, they intend to unveil in broad daylight – for the umpteenth time, some will say – behind the scenes of the royal family.
And the reasons for their hasty departure at the start of 2020.

Harry & Meghan
: the new trailer for their Netflix documentary
The interview with Oprah Winfrey, in March 2021, was a priori only a taste of their media strategy.
With the worldwide release of their Netflix series (soberly titled
Harry & Meghan
), this Thursday, December 8, the Sussexes are going further.
If we are to believe the first extracts, the documentary sounds like a declaration of war.
And is already shaking the British monarchy (Buckingham Palace, get ready!).

"A bad game"
Criticism against the press, accusations of racism, denunciation of the suffering generated by the "Firm" (the encrypted name given to the British royal family)... Three months to the day after the death of Elizabeth II, and while Charles III is still taming his throne, the big-budget series set to reopen the badly healed wounds between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
A family that Harry and Meghan left in 2020, in particular due to harassment from the British tabloids.
Everything had started well for the couple.
The marriage in 2018 between the youngest son of the new king of England and the mixed-race American actress had brought a breath of fresh air to a monarchy deemed dusty, or at least corseted in a pageantry from another age.
“And then, everything changed”, slice Harry in an explosive last trailer, unveiled by Netflix on Monday December 5.
"It's very difficult to look back and say to yourself: 'What could have happened?', we still hear him declare.
There is a hierarchy in the family, you know, there are leaks in the press, but also lies that are spread.
It's an unhealthy game."
In this oh so dreaded Windsor documentary, relatives of the Sussexes were invited to speak.
This is the case of lawyer Jenny Afia who denounces, she, "a war against Meghan, to respond to the" programs "of other people".
When another friend insists, "It's about hate, it's about race."
'Worse than the Royals
expect
'
One would have thought Harry cautious, quicker to take tweezers to describe his own, and the workings of the Crown.
It is not so.
William's younger brother is the first to denounce the actions of the royal family.
He deplores in particular "the pain and suffering of women who marry within the institution" while scrolling images of his mother Diana, killed in a car accident in 1997 after a chase with paparazzi.
But also of Kate Middleton, chased by said photographers.
Something to wonder about: what if the Duke of Sussex also mentioned the suffering of his sister-in-law, whose every move is scrutinized by the tabloids?
“I was terrified, I didn't want history to repeat itself,” he adds.

It's gonna be explosive
The Mirror
Contacted by AFP, Buckingham has not yet made any comment.
Nevertheless, according to Palace sources quoted this weekend by the
Daily Mail
, Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla are "a little tired" of these incessant attacks.
Especially since the revelations of the documentary could "be worse than what the
Royals
expect ".
"It's going to be explosive," a source at Netflix
told
The Mirror newspaper.

First revelations in 2021
Now settled in California, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had already given a shock interview on American television in 2021.
Faced with star host Oprah Winfrey, they had accused a member of the royal family of racism who would have questioned before birth about the skin color of their son Archie.
The royal family is “absolutely not racist”, had to defend Prince William, now first in the order of succession to the throne.

Since then, the break has been consummated between the two brothers and their wives.
Even if we believed, for a moment, in the reconciliation of the “Fab Four” during the death of Elizabeth II.
The two couples had gathered together in public in Windsor, without speaking to each other.
This was without counting the documentary Netflix of the Sussexes, and the memoirs of Harry to appear in January.

“Sabotage”, “Declaration of war”, “Harry, why do you hate your family so much?”, we read in the British tabloids, which see Harry and Meghan as “Kardashians capitalizing on the great unpacking of their personal lives” .
A duo gone from the dark side of the force compared to the Prince and Princess of Wales, a perfect couple, with an irreproachable sense of duty, in line with a certain Queen Elizabeth.

Since leaving the royal family, Harry and Meghan have signed lucrative deals - estimated at over $100 million - with Netflix and Spotify.
Denouncing the couple's "obsessive self-pity" and their "manifest contempt" for the royal family, the newspaper
The Sun
believes that they should be deprived of all their honorary titles.
One thing is certain: their latest releases are not likely to restore their image.
They are the least popular royals in the UK after Prince Andrew while William and Kate have 81% and 75% support respectively, according to a recent YouGov poll.
