(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 06 - In view of the increase in migratory flows along the Balkan route, the Interior Ministry has invited the prefects of Gorizia, Trieste and Udine and the government commissioner of the province of Bolzano to strengthen controls on the border areas.
Between 1 January and 25 October of this year, 4,101 irregular migrants were traced compared to 1,350 last year (+204%), according to a directive signed by the head of the Cabinet of the Ministry of the Interior, prefect Maria Teresa Semperviva .
