Even 20 degrees difference. The snow has returned to whiten the Alps and could reach as far as the Po Valley. Forecasts until December 11 (ANSA)

Less than 20 days before Holy Christmas Spring returns to the South

.

After the furious bad weather of recent days, temperatures will rise locally up to 10 degrees above the average for the period with peaks of 22-23°C in Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria.

On the other hand, in the North we will experience winter days with gray conditions and possible snowfall in the Po valley.

Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it, in fact confirms the weather trend forecast for a few days;

the intense perturbation of the weekend has left Italy, leaving behind a lot of snow in the Alps, damage in the South and the last rains in the Centre.

The north, as expected, is entering a spiral of fog and low clouds that will block the thermometer on winter values for several days in the plains;

the South, on the other hand, will be hit by the warm North African breath with spring values;

this mild air will, in part, also reach the Centre:

Rome will continue to touch, at least until Saturday, 18-19°C as if we were in April, a good 5 degrees above the average.

An Italy divided in 2 therefore, with a thermal difference between North and South of up to 20°C;

needless to underline that to spend a nice holiday during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception it will be preferable to have the sea in the Centre-South and the mountains in the North!

In fact

, snow suddenly and after a year on the run, has returned to dominate the scene in the Alps

with frequent snowfalls in the last 2 weeks: about 40-50 cm of fresh snow has fallen on the Alpine slopes, suitably worked by snowcats.

Perfect slopes and sunny moments in the mountains, up there beyond the stagnant mists on the plains.

Between

Thursday evening and Friday morning the snow could also whiten the Piedmontese plain, especially the Cuneo area, but we do not exclude surprises in Turin as well

.

In all of this eventful weather, a summary is necessary: some rain is expected until tomorrow in Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Alto Lazio, locally in Romagna;

the rest of beautiful Italy will instead be divided in two, as described above.

For the Feast of the Immaculate Conception a gradual deterioration is on the way towards Sardinia and Tuscany and from the evening on the North-West with possible snowfalls in the plains.

Friday 9 December, San Siro, still bad weather in the Centre-North, lots of sun and heat instead in the South: snow level expected in the Alps at around 400 metres.

And finally, be careful because the wintery North could offer another white surprise over the weekend, with possible snowfalls in the plains of Emilia and up to the gates of Milan on Sunday 11 December.
