The roasted almonds at the Christmas market are too expensive for you, you like to try them out and maybe even need an inexpensive Christmas present?

Then homemade roasted almonds are just the thing.

Have you been to the Christmas market this year and couldn't resist the smell of roasted almonds?

But you don't necessarily have to buy the little Christmas treats at a high price.

With the following recipe you can easily make roasted almonds yourself - and either eat them yourself or give them away for Christmas.

You can easily make roasted almonds yourself, which taste at least as good as at the Christmas market, and either feast on them yourself or give them away for Christmas.

For neighbors, acquaintances and people in the area who you may not (yet) know so well, not only homemade roasted almonds are suitable as a small, inexpensive gift.

Culinary Christmas bags - filled with home-baked cookies such as buttery clouds, Hilda rolls, snowballs and Bethmännchen should also be very well received as a little Christmas joy.

Just like a beautifully staged self-compiled baking mixture in a glass.

You need the following ingredients for roasted almonds that are as delicious as at the Christmas market

  • 250 grams of sugar

  • 1-2 packets of vanilla sugar (depending on your taste)

  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

  • 1 pinch cardamom

  • Christmas spices such as cloves, star anise, chilli (depending on taste)

  • 125ml water

  • 250 grams of almonds

Easy to prepare: roasted almonds to snack on yourself or as a last-minute Christmas present

  • Put the sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and other spices if desired in a saucepan and stir briefly.

  • Then pour the water into the pot.

No need to stir, just heat the pot contents until the sugar and spice water is boiling.

  • Then add the almonds and let them simmer in the sugar and spice water.

Now you should be stirring constantly.

  • When the water has completely evaporated, the almonds are dry and the sugar-spice mixture coats the almonds, then the homemade roasted almonds are ready, just like from the Christmas market.

Just be careful not to burn the almonds or sugar and turn black.

  • Take the roasted almonds out of the pot and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space to dry.

  • In typical bags for roasted almonds, you can give the inexpensive homemade last-minute Christmas present to friends, acquaintances and neighbors - or simply enjoy it yourself.

You can also easily make chocolate fruits yourself, like those from the Christmas market.
