A 58-year-old died about a week after an accident in which the service limousine of Bavaria's Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber was involved.
The woman had succumbed to her severe injuries in the hospital, reports included the BR and the "Süddeutsche Zeitung".
According to the police at the time, the accident on November 28 on the district road in the direction of Siegsdorf in the Traunstein district occurred after a 22-year-old had come to the left into the oncoming lane.
An oncoming 58-year-old was able to avoid the woman's car, but lost control of her vehicle.
The elderly woman's car skidded and collided with the car in which the minister was sitting.
The CSU politician was seriously injured, her driver slightly injured.
The 22-year-old was unharmed, it was said at the time.
Kaniber has since been able to leave the hospital, as she announced on Facebook on Friday.
"I am grateful to God in heaven because I am doing well considering the circumstances," she wrote.
However, for the time being "due to my broken breastbone and the severely damaged coccyx" she is not able to attend public appointments.
In the message - published before the 58-year-old's death - she wrote of the driver: "We are heartbroken, praying and thinking of her deeply."
