The overseas gossip sites reported tonight (Tuesday) that one of the men involved in the shooting incident and kidnapping of

Lady Gaga

's dogs was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

The horrifying incident happened last year, when

Ryan Fisher

, the singer's dog walker, took her dogs for a walk.

Two men out of three jumped out of a vehicle that stopped next to Fisher, and began beating and choking him.

He fought back, was shot four times and two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen from the scene.

Fisher was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition stabilized and he recovered.

The dogs were returned after the singer offered a cash reward of half a million dollars.

The "New York Times" reported that the shooter,

James Howard Jackson

, reached a plea deal with the prosecution, and will serve 21 years in prison.

The district attorney's office stated that "the plea agreement finds Mr. Jackson responsible for a violent and cold act, and provides justice for the victim."

Before signing the agreement, Fisher addressed the man who almost took his life: "You shot me and left me to die. Now, both of our lives have changed forever."

Fisher also said that the shooting caused his lungs to collapse, and he suffered damage to his income.
