Thirty Extinction Rebellion activists disguised as fake Santas clapped their hands and blocked traffic, in front of the Ministry of Ecology, boulevard Saint-Germain (VIIe) in Paris, this Tuesday, December 6.
Through this action, they wanted to challenge the government on global warming, on the eve of COP15, in Montreal.
The operation was dubbed “Happy Extinction”.
As “poisoned” gifts, the activists left disembowelled stuffed animals, sprinkled with fake blood, petroleum, or pesticide.
“No French leader will go to COP15 on biodiversity, this shows their contempt for this subject.
Nature is dying in silence and we are here to show it, ”explains an activist.
Law enforcement quickly intervened to unblock traffic and arrest the activists.
