“They knew that if they did that there would be consequences, that they would be ostracized, that they would lose their family, their position within this structure and that people would blame them for it,” continues the daughter of “ Bobby Kennedy.

"They did it anyway because they believed they couldn't live with themselves if they didn't question that authority."

The “enormous impact” of telling his story

Invited to go on stage to receive their “anti-racism” prize, the Sussexes in turn had the right to speak.

Meghan Markle took advantage of this moment to praise Robert Kennedy, a man who inspires her.

“RFK's enduring dream of a just and peaceful world is more than just hope.

It is a direct request, a specific challenge, a call to action, a test of individual courage and collective spirit,” she insists.

“His appeal to humanity is as relevant today as it was in 1966, when he addressed the University of Cape Town, a place we visited and close to our hearts.

And he delivered a vision for the common good of society.”

Sitting alongside his wife, Harry meanwhile stressed the importance of storytelling, saying that “ultimately we live in a world where sharing experiences and stories has a huge impact” and then adding that it was important to undertake "if you are in a position of influence, leadership or otherwise".
