(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, DECEMBER 07 - The governor of the Central Bank of Iran Ali Saleh-Abadi has affirmed that the bank accounts of women who do not wear the veil will not be blocked.
"The network of banks will offer our services to all our citizens", said Saleh-Abadi, as reported by the reformist daily Shargh, in reference to the blocking of current accounts for those who do not observe the law requiring the wearing of the veil, announced yesterday by the member of the culture commission of the Iranian parliament Hossein Jalali as part of a reform to be put into practice in the coming weeks.
