The preparation of the cherry out of the glass cake is very simple

  • Use a sieve to drain the cherries from the jar for the cherry tart with sprinkles.

  • Heat the butter a little in the microwave so that it becomes liquid and mix it with the flour and sugar.

Use your hands to form the cake crumbles.

  • For the cake batter, put the butter and sugar in a bowl and mix until fluffy.

Then add the eggs, flour, starch, baking powder, lemon zest, salt and milk and mix until the ingredients are evenly combined.

  • Place the batter on a parchment-lined baking sheet, press in the drained cherries and top the cherry-in-a-jar cake with the homemade cake sprinkles.

  • Bake the cake for about half an hour in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (160 degrees Celsius fan oven).

  • If you like, you can sprinkle the juicy cherry crumble cake with cherries from the glass with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream.
