The day after his show ended, comedian Alexander Bojcan stood on the stage of Hamburg's Laeiszhalle and made it clear how happy he was that his show was over.

"There's no longer any evil in my life, because 'Chez Krömer' is over," says Bojcan.

It's one of the rare moments when Bojcan speaks in private.

Normally, Bojcan always remains in the role of his stage persona, Kurt Krömer.

Many only know the comedian under this name.

Tuesday evening is sold out, the hall holds more than two thousand people.

In a white shirt and dark blue suit, Bojcan presents his Kurt Krömer as brash and disrespectful as usual, but it gets serious for a very short time.

»Guys, this is now I think the 24th of 63 shows on this tour.

It goes until June 3rd next year.

And then I stop.

I've been touring for 25 years and I've never had a break.«

Kurt Krömer is not only withdrawing from »Chez Krömer«, but also from his stage life – at least temporarily.

It's a big step that Krömer quickly covers over with a gag: "I always finished a show on Sundays and said to myself: 'That's it, now you're living off your savings'.

And then we'll see each other again on Wednesday.« Then he continues to joke routinely about school principals, hash biscuits and porn channels on hotel television.

RBB announced on Monday that the award-winning show "Chez Krömer" would be discontinued.

Krömer received two Grimme awards for the program in the interrogation format.

The end after seven seasons and 41 episodes came as a surprise to fans of the show.

"The comment columns glowed yesterday," Krömer said in an Instagram video on Tuesday.

It was "grotesque" how many people were happy for him that he ended the show.

Because it was a necessary step: "My body eventually rejected this format.

I got up in a bad mood in the morning, went to the station in a bad mood, sat through the editorial meetings in a bad mood and did the show in a bad mood.« Although he had been very successful with it, he no longer wanted to torture himself.

"My masochism isn't developed enough for that."

At first it looked as if Krömer spontaneously threw down his show after an argument with Faisal Kawusi.

In the program, Krömer broke off the conversation several minutes before the end and left the stylized interrogation room.

Then he said in front of the cameras: "Today is the day when I think (...) that I'll go home and see if I might reconsider the concept."

In 2019, together with producer Friedrich Küppersbusch and his company probono.tv, Krömer developed the idea of an interrogation in a very small space for the »Chez Krömer« show concept.

In the series, celebrities and politicians answered the moderator's questions.

In a program with Thorsten Sträter, Alexander Bojcan came out as depressed in 2021.

In March 2022, under the pseudonym Krömer, he published the book You must not believe everything you think: My depression.
