(ANSA) - ROME, 07 DEC - Giorgia Meloni is the seventh most powerful woman in the world according to the 2022 edition of the World's Most Powerful Women ranking drawn up by Forbes, in which the premier is the only Italian.
"As Italy's most right-wing head of government since the end of World War II, Meloni is a controversial figure whose political future remains uncertain. Despite this, his success represents an achievement for female leadership. if only because she is the only woman to lead a G20 country".
In first place in the ranking of the 100 most influential women, for her role during the war in Ukraine and for the management of the pandemic, is the president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen: "Her influence is unique, no other woman in the ranking does policy on behalf of 450 million people".

Symbolically representing Iranian protesters in this year's ranking is Mahsa Amini, the young Kurd who died in September after being arrested for not wearing the veil correctly and whose death sparked an unprecedented wave of protests in Iran.
