A snowboarder died in an accident with a snow cat in the Austrian Zillertal.
The 29-year-old German suffered serious head injuries in the accident and died on the slopes, said a spokeswoman for the Tyrolean police.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
As reported by the ORF, among others, the woman collided with the oncoming snow groomer in the afternoon.
Initial measures were taken immediately at the scene of the accident.
The alerted emergency medical team could no longer save the casualty.
Her companion was looked after by a crisis intervention team.
According to the Mayrhofener Bergbahnen, the fatal accident happened around 2:45 p.m. on the Horberg near Schwendau in the upper area of slope 11.
