Berlin: Soldier is said to have worked as a DJ – despite the ban and sick leave

The Berlin public prosecutor's office has filed charges against a 27-year-old professional soldier at the Tiergarten district court for insubordination because she is said to have worked as a DJ in the nightlife.

Specifically, the accused, with the rank of sergeant major, is accused of having worked as a DJ, even though she was on sick leave and banned from secondary employment, according to the prosecution.

23 appearances accused

According to the information, the soldier was employed as a nurse in the Bundeswehr hospital in Berlin, but has not been on duty since the beginning of April 2021 due to illness.

According to the indictment, this should not have stopped her from appearing under the stage name Anastasia Rose, selling merchandise such as perfume and clothing and regularly producing new music videos for the Internet platform twitch.tv.

Since July 20, 2021, the captain in the Bundeswehr has given her ten times the express order to stop unauthorized secondary employment, the public prosecutor said.

Nevertheless, she is said to have performed a total of 23 times between August 7, 2021 and June 8, 2022 - partly live, partly in the live stream.

Disobedience is punishable by imprisonment of up to three years under the Military Penal Code.
