Tragedy on the way to Hoffa:

Nati and Michal (pseudonyms) planned their wedding for a long time.

They knew many ups and downs in their relationship, and always found a way to return to each other, and to overcome and grow from every crisis that befell them.

They thought about the wedding night together in every detail, and every planning for the occasion caused butterflies in both of their stomachs and excitement: from buying the rings, through choosing the dress, to choosing the menu - every thought about one of these just made them happy and laugh together.

As part of the preparations for the big event, they contacted the Zohar rabbinical organization, and after a few days they received the name of the rabbi who would marry them: Rabbi Noam.

Michal and Nati were excited but also a little worried.

As a non-observant couple, they were afraid that all their great excitement would go down the drain, and that the dreams of what the canopy would look like would turn into a basket of religious and ritualistic demands.

On one of the evenings when they were sitting together, Nati's cell phone rang.

The rabbi was on the line and he asked to meet, get to know, and talk with them at his home for the big night of their lives.

Nati and Michal were surprised by the interest, the joy of life and the partnership that was heard in his voice, and after a few days they met at his house for a cup of coffee and cake.

The house was full of children's joy and life.

After a few minutes of embarrassment, they began to feel comfortable telling a little about themselves, about the way they met and the relationship they built with great effort together: "You move me," he told them, "You are an example of the victory of spirit, love and desire. You filled me with inspiration."

The rest of the conversation was pleasant and fluid.

The rabbi explained to them every step in making the chupah, and the halachic idea behind it.

Nati and Michal realized that they had found the right rabbi for them.

The excitement was at its peak, but three days before the wedding a terrible disaster struck them: Danny, Nati's little brother, was killed in a fatal car accident, and the couple asked to postpone the wedding to an unknown date.

The rabbi heard about the disaster, and felt immense sorrow for the couple.

Nati's family does not observe mitzvot and therefore did not keep Shiva, but they spent the days after the disaster together at their parents' house.

On the day they were supposed to get married, Michal was with Nati as much as she could, and asked to strengthen him in the difficult moments.

He looked into her eyes and knew that she too was experiencing immense difficulty.

they both together.

In the evening there was a knock on the door, and the rabbi was standing in the doorway.

"I came to strengthen and comfort," he said with a broken heart.

He sat down in the living room and started talking to the family members.

His parents tearfully told him about Danny: about everything he dreamed of, did and still wanted to do.

Rabbi Noam listened to the stories, and told them that their child was amazing and special.

Before he got up to go, he comforted Nati and Michal: "When you were at my house, you taught me how to grow from crises. Even after you left, I chose to look at many things in my life from a different perspective thanks to you. I'm sure you will grow from here, taller and stronger. As only you You know. No matter when you decide to get married in the end, I'll be there to be a part of the joy," he said.

There was not a dry eye left.

The wedding was rescheduled, a few months after the disaster, and just before the wedding, the couple asked the rabbi to tell about Danny under the canopy, and he replied in the affirmative.

"I was able to get to know his life story and I learned so much from him and from you, I'm sure he is here with us in spirit," he said.

Ein didn't stay dry during the exciting Khupah, and the couple got to build a loyal home.

Several years have passed since the wedding, and the family members of Nati and Michal have known many moments of joy and sadness.

Rabbi Noam was with them in all of them.

Although Michal and Nati applied to the organization only to get married, they met a rabbi who became part of the family and a close friend.
