Forza Italia is pushing for a further increase in minimum pensions, from 574 euros to the psychological threshold of 600, but the League is holding back.

Doubts related to the resources available: should there not be sufficient funds immediately, the objective will be achieved "during the legislature", affirms the undersecretary of the Northern League for Labor Claudio Durigon, however causing the irritation of the Azzurri.

"One thing cannot be said in the majority meeting and then another outside", protest sources from Silvio Berlusconi's party, according to whom yesterday's summit at Palazzo Chigi on the maneuver there would have been an opening to a small increase, with the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti who would have explained the need to calculate the entity and the starting age, from 75 or 80 years.

The problem is of resources, such as for the extension of the superbonus and the unblocking of credits in the Aiuti quater dl, an issue on which however the majority is united.

The tensions over pensions, on the other hand, risk influencing the first steps of the maneuver in the Chamber, where the more than three thousand amendments will be reduced in the next few days, concentrating the examination in the Budget Committee only on those reported.

And among the knots to be resolved for the government there will be the one on the threshold (first imagined at 30 euros and then defined at 60) beyond which it is mandatory for merchants to accept electronic payments.

The oppositions are calling for the law to be repealed.

In the majority, Noi moderates proposes to limit the commissions on payments with cards up to 15 euros to 1% of spending.

The theme is on standby.

A delicate game is being played on the POS,

intertwined with the objectives of the Pnrr.

At Palazzo Chigi and at the Mef, they awaited the outcome of the dialogue with the European Commission at the beginning of the week, which, on the other hand, is taking more time.

Brussels' opinion on the maneuver will also arrive next week, explained EU commissioner Paolo Gentiloni: "Our principles seem clear to me, just read the Pnrr or the EU recommendations to know that for us both electronic invoicing and the fight against evasion are high priorities".

If the discussion with Brussels were to go on for a long time - some sources of the majority are coming to support -, it is not excluded that a decision will be taken to cancel the measure and re-propose it in a new provision.

The approval process in Parliament cannot be slowed down, and it is not ideal at the moment,

undertake a tug of war, while in parallel, among other things, the confrontation is underway to have more room for maneuver on the Pnrr (Minister Raffaele Fitto has convened a control room for the point on the deadlines at the end of December).

Meanwhile, the maximum limit of 10,000 euros for cash payments throughout the Union is one of the points agreed in the EU Council on the anti-money laundering regulation.

"Well, Europe too confirms the freedom to use one's money as one wishes, even doubling the ceiling on the use of cash envisaged by the Italian government from 5 to 10 thousand euros - reads Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini -. Claims and critics in quiet today?"

Meloni has already made it clear that all local amendments will be cancelled.

And he sent a clear message:

there will be no 'save-football' measure.

Among the amendments by FdI, one proposes a sort of penal shield for companies that defaulted with the tax authorities in 2022 and that requested installment payments for amounts exceeding 250,000 euros: a general rule, designed for traders who buy and sell energy, of which sports clubs could also benefit.

It is not said that it is one of the amendments mentioned, but certainly work is underway on the reduction of penalties (today at 10%) and interest (at 3% for three years).

The extension until June 2023 of the concession which allows the taxation on capital gains on land and equity to be limited to 14% (instead of the 26% envisaged for capital income) has also been targeted by the opposition, also extending it to shares and securities on the financial markets,

as well as savings and fund assets and life insurance policies.

It would bring in around $1.5 billion in revenue in 2023.
