Pension reform is moving forward.

During a dinner held Wednesday evening at the Élysée, which Le Parisien reveals behind the scenes, the executive seemed to favor a retirement age of 65.

The measure should be included in a budget text relating to Social Security, while Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is meeting the social partners on Thursday.

The one who defends a method based on dialogue, thus received Philippe Martinez, secretary general of the CGT at 8:30 a.m., then Laurent Berger, secretary general of the CFDT at 9:30 a.m.

She will then meet with the president of the CFE-CGC François Hommeril and that of the CFTC Cyril Chabanier, while the consultation between the government and the social partners must end on Friday.

The reform will be officially presented to the Council of Ministers in January and then incorporated into an amended Social Security finance bill (PLFSSR), which will arrive at the assembly in early 2023. This choice is not trivial: it allows the government to use the famous 49.3 as many times as necessary.

According to the Constitution, apart from the financial texts where the use of this article is unlimited, its use can only be drawn once per parliamentary session.

A specific law on pensions ran the risk for the executive of grilling the only cartridge of the government.

The shows scheduled from August 26 to October 4, including these Parisian dates, however, remain on the bill.
