Every year the big timetable change of the train takes place.

This time, too, the group is announcing many advantages for its customers.

Munich – True to the motto "A new year, a new happiness", Deutsche Bahn presented its new winter timetable for 2022/2023.

More trains, more seats, a new ICE and more expensive tickets are promised.

Deutsche Bahn customers will have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

The timetable change will take place on December 11th.

Here travelers can find out everything they need to know.

Deutsche Bahn will increase prices for the timetable change

The bad news first: Deutsche Bahn is increasing prices by an average of 4.9 percent.

The flex tickets are even said to be 6.9 percent more expensive on average.

The Bahncard offers are also becoming more expensive.

The super saver fares and seat reservations are not affected by the price increase.

With the change, the new high-speed line between Wendlingen and Ulm will also be opened.

This has an impact on the travel time between NRW and Bavaria.

Because the connections between Cologne via Stuttgart to Munich and the route Stuttgart via Ulm to Munich will be around 15 minutes faster.

Assuming the train isn't late.

The railway also announced that it would increase the number of trips by 20 to 90.

Deutsche Bahn presents the new ICE – more space for travelers

The lack of space and the resulting jostling in the wagons could soon come to an end.

In general, the number of trips should be increased, lines extended and the XXL ICE 4 used.

This makes it possible to increase the number of seats by around 60 percent.

This again benefits the connection from Munich via Ulm to Stuttgart and Frankfurt Airport.

This also offers relief for connections between Bremen and Cologne with a stop in Osnabrück and Münster.

Another highlight of the railway: the new ICE 3neo.

This started its trips between Dortmund, Cologne and Munich.

In addition, he should also drive on Saturdays on the new high-speed line between Ulm and Wendlingen.

Additional ICE trains are to create up to 19,000 seats over the course of the next year.

Train: Connections abroad are being expanded

Deutsche Bahn is also expanding its international connections.

Initially, the route from Stuttgart to Zurich will have an additional return trip.

The number of direct connections is to increase from eight to 13 trips in October 2023.

The connection from Berlin to Warsaw will receive an additional sixth train pair from March 2023 in cooperation with the Polish PKP.

Furthermore, the travel time is reduced by ten minutes.

There will also be a connection between Zurich and Berlin and between Zurich and Prague with stops in Erfurt, Halle and Leipzig.

The connection between Zurich and Hamburg with additional stops in Heidelberg, Darmstadt, Hanau, Verden and Nienburg will be expanded.

The night train from Munich to Venice, Rijeka, Zagreb, Vienna and Budapest is scheduled to start in Stuttgart.

In addition, the night trains before Munich stop in Göppingen, Ulm and Augsburg.

The next few months will show whether the new plan actually brings more luck.
