The end of "Wonder Woman"? Gal Gadot in a dramatic message Israel today

The heads of the DC company stopped the production of the third film in the film series and they are expected to make fundamental changes in the brand • "Can't wait to share the next chapter in my career", the Israeli actress wrote on her Twitter account

The new heads of the DC company, James Gunn and Peter Safran, have stopped the production of the third film in the "Wonder Woman" film series, the US media reports.

According to sources, the script for the film, which was submitted by filmmaker Patty Jenkins (who directed the first two Wonder Woman films), was described as a "pile of papers that are not worthy".

It was also said that the third film is "considered dead" at this point and it is not clear what will happen to the superheroine.

This move is published a day after an unusual message tweeted by Gal Gadot, the star of the first two films in the series.

In a tweet from her Twitter account, Gadot tweeted words of thanks to her fans and wrote that she "can't wait to share" the next chapter in her career with them.

Gadot, it seems, will not necessarily take part in future projects in the series and may not play the heroine anymore.

According to estimates, this is a move that clearly indicates that Gunn and Safran want to start over and change some fundamental things when it comes to the "Wonder Woman" brand.

It is not clear now what will happen to the successful character of the DC comic company (which, unlike those of the Marvel company, do not tend to win much cinematic success), except that the two did not see the script submitted to them as one that could be properly adapted into a blockbuster.

The website "Deadline" reports that some claim that it is very possible that Jenkins will submit another script for the film and that she is still planned to be part of the project.

A few years ago it was announced that I was going to play Wonder Woman. I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I'm grateful for YOU. The fans. Can't wait to share her next chapter with you🙅🏻‍♀️🙌🏼💃🏻♥️ pic.twitter.com/XlzhrMx4xe

The announcement of the production of "Wonder Woman 3" came together with the release of the second film in the series "Wonder Woman 1984", which was postponed, as you remember, due to the Corona crisis.

Finally, the film was released on the HBO Max service in December 2020. The first film from 2017 was considered revolutionary in terms of revenue and grossed more than 820 million dollars, while the sequel (even without taking into account that the epidemic affected its profits) was considered inferior in script.

At the "Cinemacon" conference that took place after the global health crisis in August 2021, Jenkins said that the way "Wonder Woman 1984" was released (in cinemas and online) was "the best choice out of a lot of bad choices" that were made in connection with it and that for her it was a "breaking experience heart".

"I don't think the movie works the same when watching streaming," she said then, adding: "I'm not a big fan of that approach and I hope to avoid it forever."
