Many give a tip after a visit to the hairdresser if they are satisfied.
But how much is enough without snubbing anyone?
A hairdresser gives the answer.
In the restaurant, in public toilets and also at the hairdresser: there are unwritten rules that state in which service areas tips are expected.
Many people know this and in most cases are happy to do so voluntarily.
The golden rule here is that you plan with around 10 to 15 percent of the total bill.
What is the customary tip?

Of course, this can be a significant additional sum, depending on how high the latter ends up being.
This also applies to the hairdresser, among other things.
Experience has shown that someone who only has the tips cut pays less than someone who has their hair dyed or even has highlights added.
Tipping in itself is a generous gesture and is also there to show the other person when you have been satisfied with their service.
If you only have your hair cut, you usually give a smaller tip than for complex color treatments.

Especially in occupations that are poorly paid, such as hairdressers, waiters or cleaners, some employees are downright dependent on the additional income, especially in large cities.
Master hairdresser Christian Stinner, who owns his own shop in Munich, knows this too.
On his website he explains the following: "Hairdressers earn about 20-50 percent less than equally qualified professionals in other industries."

Tip at the hairdresser: 10 to 15 percent is normal
The expert goes on to say that he's pleased that so many of his customers tip and goes into detail about how much to tip.
“A haircut usually costs between five and ten euros.
Some very satisfied customers even give 20 euros or more!” The master hairdresser also goes into the different color treatments.
But here, too, "the majority of our customers are happy to give five to ten percent of the invoice amount," he continues, giving an example calculation: "Invoice amount 200 euros, tip about ten to 20 euros."
In principle, however, a ten percent tip is always fair, but if you are particularly satisfied with the service, it can also be 15 percent, he adds.
On the other hand, if you don't pay anything extra, it shows the hairdresser who served you that you are dissatisfied.
This is of course legitimate, especially if it is actually the case.
If not, many hairdressers would always appreciate a small tip.
