Pop singer Fischer: "At some point you don't even notice that you're in a tunnel"

At her concerts, fans of pop singer Helene Fischer are used to bright performances.
But her work has already pushed the 38-year-old ("Breathless through the Night") to the edge of her strength in the course of her career.
As Fischer described in an interview on Swiss SRF, she was on the verge of being overwhelmed before the 2019 corona pandemic.
"Thank God I still got the curve," she said in the conversation.
»When you, as an artist, no longer really feel any emotions, when you find everything just exhausting, you have to be honest with yourself and step on the brakes.«
Fischer had already talked about being tired and sick on a talk show in 2019.
When asked by moderator Urs Gredig that their descriptions sounded like burnout, Fischer said: "I was probably on the verge of it."
Pandemic as a creative break
Despite all the horror it brought to the world, she was also able to use the pandemic as a creative break, said Fischer.
She worked a lot on her music and wanted to "bring in more personality".
Her close ties to her family also helped her.
Fischer only gave one concert in Germany this year.
However, there was also criticism of the appearance in front of more than a hundred thousand visitors in Munich's Olympic Stadium in August due to alleged organizational errors.
In the coming year, the singer will be on tour again, with 70 concerts in Germany and neighboring countries.
