The premiere at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan of the opera
Boris Godunov
was a "voice in the desert" against the backdrop of the "removal of Russian culture" in the West: the comment is from the spokesman of the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, quoted by the Tass agency.
"As far as this removal is concerned - according to Peskov - there is still some glimmer of reasonableness. In particular, the premiere of Boris Godunov which took place this week in Milan demonstrates in my opinion that there is absolutely no need to abolish culture Russia, which is wonderful and is part of the world heritage," Vladimir Putin's spokesman said in statements to the Izvestia newspaper quoted by TASS.
