from the "Basket Street Boys" band is accused of raping a girl, it was reported tonight (Friday) on overseas gossip sites.
The serious incident allegedly occurred in 2001 when Carter was 21 years old and the complainant,
Shannon Ruth
, was 17.
In the lawsuit Ruth filed, it is claimed that after the band's performance in Washington, Carter asked her if she wanted to hang out on the bus used by the band members.
The young woman, who has autism and cerebral palsy, agreed to the offer.
When they were on the bus, she asked Carter for apple juice, but he served her blueberry juice to which he added alcohol without her knowledge.
When she felt bad she asked to go to the bathroom where, according to her, Carter forced her to perform oral sex on him.

After the incident in the bathroom, Carter carried Ruth to bed, raped her and called her "a retarded little bitch".
He also told her that no one would believe her if she told about what happened on the bus.
"Just because he's a famous person doesn't mean he's allowed to escape punishment. I'm a survivor, and I always will be," Shannon said at a press conference she held.
A close associate of Carter denied the allegations against him, telling the TMZ website "All the allegations against him are false. Nick is focused on his family, and is still grieving the loss of his brother."
This is not the first time that such claims have been made against Carter: in 2016 ,
Melissa Schumann
, who was a member of the band "Dream", published a statement saying that Carter raped her when she was 18 and he was 22. Even then, Carter denied the allegations against him, saying that the sexual relations were consensual.
