Mike Flanagan and his production company are known to be moving from Netflix to Prime Video.
There, the series maker's dream is fulfilled.
He directs the serial version of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" that so many fans have dreamed of.
For six years, Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy created and produced material for Netflix (see How to unlock profile transfer) via Intrepid Pictures.
They have had the joint production company since 2004.
Four of those years they worked exclusively for the streaming market leader.
After the two "Haunting" series and Midnight Mass, they are switching to competitor Amazon Prime Video with immediate effect.
There Flanagan probably fulfills a big dream, because he is allowed to adapt Stephen King's magnum opus again: "The Dark Tower".
As in previous attempts, it should be big: Five seasons and two feature films are planned for this implementation.
Will it work this time?
In an interview with Deadline, the two announced their intention and revealed that they had acquired the rights to the mammoth work.
It mixes several genres such as western, science fantasy, horror and dark fantasy.
There is already a pilot script that Flangan wrote, and he already has a rough outline on his desk.
