Despite his eight Wimbledon wins, Roger Federer was blocked by a security guard at the entrance to the All England Club in London because he did not have his membership card.
The strange episode was told by the 41-year-old Swiss champion in an interview with the American TV program The Daily Show.

"I arrived at the gate, where guests normally enter and I asked the lady in security: 'Hello, I wanted to know how to enter Wimbledon' and she replied 'Do you have your membership card?'. And So I wondered if I had it, because when you win Wimbledon you automatically become a partner. But I didn't know anything about it, he was probably at home."
In the end, Federer was only able to enter the enclosure after a spectator recognized him and reported the problem to club officials.
