Giotto's legacy in the 1900s, but also neo-romantic and expressionist painting in Italy in the 1930s, and writing in ancient Egypt: these are some of the exhibitions that can be visited during the long weekend of the Immaculate Conception.

ROVERETO - The "Giotto and the twentieth century" exhibition at the Mart until 19 March, based on an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi and curated by Alessandra Tiddia.

Through over 200 works, the exhibition offers a journey through the history of art in the wake of the Tuscan painter and architect, to understand how much his parable influenced artists in the centuries to come, from Carlo Carrà, Mario Sironi and Arturo Martini to Gino Severini, Massimo Campigli, Achille Funi, Ubaldo Oppi, from Giorgio Morandi, Fausto Melotti, Mario Radice, Lucio Fontana, up to Henri Matisse, Yves Klein,

LA SPEZIA - Afro and Filippo de Pisis, Emilio Vedova and Antonietta Raphaël, and then Fausto Pirandello, Renato Guttuso, Carlo Levi, Lucio Fontana: these are just some of the artists exhibited in the exhibition "The body of colour. The Italian neo-romantic and expressionist painting of the Thirties. Works from the Giuseppe Iannaccone Collection", until 2 April at the Carispezia Foundation.

Curated by the Giuseppe Iannaccone Collection, the itinerary presents works created between 1920 and the end of the Second World War, in which color is a central element also as an expression of the personal vision of the authors.

TURIN - From 7 December to 7 September in the new spaces of the Egyptian Museum (500 square meters distributed between the ground floor and the hypogeum, granted by the Turin Academy of Sciences and recently restored) the exhibition "Thoth's gift: reading the ancient Egypt", curated by Paolo Marini, Federico Poole and Susanne Töpfer.

Focused on writing, from hieroglyphic to Coptic, from hieratic to demotic, and therefore on signs and texts, the exhibition presents numerous papyri but also masterpieces of statuary, alabaster objects and wooden statuettes for a total of 170 exhibits.

ROME - The first stage of the journey to discover the deposits of the Roman National Museum is dedicated to "Ulysses": from 8 December to 8 January the public will be able to admire finds that are not usually visible, including sculptures, mosaics, frescoes, terracotta objects, in glass and bronze, following the myth of the famous character, traveler par excellence.

SIENA - "Ladies, knights and noble steeds" is the title of Marco Lodola's exhibition which will make Siena from 9 December to 9 February an iridescent casket of games and colours.

Inside the Santa Maria della Scala museum, in the spaces of the former Refectory and Sala San Pio, a monumental luminous scenography is set up consisting of a series of outdoor installations and a museum itinerary, with characters from the imaginary of the artist, made up of dancers, mythological animals and other glittering figures.

FOLIGNO (Pg) - "I Love Lego" arrives at Palazzo Trinci on 7 December, an exhibition designed for all fans of the famous bricks, young and old.

The itinerary, visible until 4 June, presents 7 huge dioramas among imaginative cities, historical reconstructions, unexplored continents and entire villages, very detailed reproductions of fantastic worlds on a reduced scale.

For the visitor, moreover, an amusing "character hunt", a challenge to track down famous (and not) characters hidden inside the installations.
