There is something in the air, a very special scent.

A Christmas tree is simply part of Christmas.

The delicious smell of freshly baked bread and cheese fills your nose and it tastes sooo good!

As?

Of course, I'm not talking about the decorated and glowing Christmas tree in the living room, but about this delicious

plucked bread with a Christmas tree look

.

For me, it definitely belongs on the table as part of a starter or as a small snack in between.

If our easy-peasy filling is not enough for you, we have put together even more ideas for you further down in the article.

That's how it's done:

You only need 3 (main) ingredients:

  • 1 roll (400 g each) of pizza dough on the refrigerated shelf

  • 32 balls of mini mozzarella

  • 1 egg whisked

  • coarse sea salt

  • rosemary, chopped

The preparation is very simple:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C for a circulating air.

  • Unroll the pizza dough and cut into 32 pieces per Christmas tree plucked bread.

  • Spread a mini mozzarella ball on each of the cut pieces of dough and then carefully roll them into balls so that the mozzarella is in the middle as a filling.

  • Arrange the prepared dough balls in the shape of a fir tree (28 dough balls) with a trunk (4 dough balls) on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Place balls of dough close together so they bake together in the oven.

  • Brush the Christmas tree plucked bread with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and chopped rosemary, if you like.

  • Bake about 20 minutes until golden brown.

  • Enjoy while still warm!

  • Oh fir tree, oh fir tree, how cheesy are your balls?
